Community project volunteering (Harlow, Essex)
The Harlow & Gilston Garden Town Project offers people in your area the chance to Get involved with our Active Travel Promotions.
You can help with a range of different tasks and activities. These can be fitted according to your own availability and interests.
- support project officers at events in the community or with our workplaces offer. There may be some opportunity for you to volunteer in our schools work please let us know if you are interested in this in your application.
You will be helping to share active travel information, speaking to people about active travel and helping us answer any travel queries.
- help inspire participants as they get to know Harlow and the surrounding area.

Your local team will support you and provide training.

Any expenses for helping with these activities, which have been agreed, will be paid back to you. This can include for tools and public transport on the day of volunteering.
If you don’t have an email address, or for any other reason aren’t able to fill in our online form, not to worry. Reach out to your local Volunteer Coordinator (find here), and they can fill in the details for you.
**We will ask you for the contact details of a person, who you have known for more than 6 months (1 reference). ** Please have these ready when filling in the application form. If you need support identifying a reference, please let us know.
