Visitor engagement volunteering (Stockton Hub)
At our Active Travel Hub, you will support the local team with enabling people in your local community to walk, wheel or cycle every day. You will be a representative of the Hub and what we are trying to achieve.
You can help with different tasks when volunteering at the front desk of the Hub. This can include:
- greeting people who visit the Hub and offer them support
- helping to register people in our cycle parking system
- signing up new members
- answering the phone to signpost people and answer basic questions
- chatting with local people about the benefits of cycling, walking and wheeling.
Other tasks might come up, which you can help with as needed and if interested. You will receive all necessary training.
Does this sound like you?
You…
- are comfortable with being the first point of contact for people visiting the Hub
- would enjoy engaging people about being active
- can carry out tasks independently and with a diverse group of people
- are willing to learn more about walking, wheeling and cycling paths and routes in the area
- feel comfortable answering phone calls
- have some awareness of how to handle sensitive data (training will be provided)
- share our values and mission to get more people cycling, walking and wheeling in your community.
Then let us know your interest in helping your local Active Travel Hub with welcoming and supporting visitors and members.
Time commitment
We are flexible on how much time you can help each week or month. Let us know what suits you.
It would be ideal if you can help for a few hours every week. We can work around your schedule and see what fits you best.
