Opportunity image

Available from 1 July 2023 to 30 September 2023

This volunteering opportunity is to regularly support the Sustrans wide volunteering team with various communications and administrative tasks.

The Sustrans wide volunteering team provides support on everything related to volunteering with Sustrans.

The team engage with volunteers around the UK, as well as support Sustrans employees with volunteering as a part of their work.

As part of this opportunity you will support the team with a variety of tasks.

You can do most tasks in our Bristol office, or from your home. This is flexible and can be according to your needs, although you may be required to attend in person training if necessary.

You can help with different admin and communications tasks, depending on your interests. These include:

  • adding and updating information in our volunteer and colleague online systems including news, guidance and training
  • proofreading news articles and documents
  • providing admin support for our volunteer Facebook page, including writing and sharing posts
  • assisting with organising records
  • assisting with research projects.

Other tasks might also come up, which you can help with as needed and if interested. Just let us know what you would like to help with.

We can then have a chat about what our team is working on right now, and how you might be able to help with the administrative and communications tasks.

You will receive all necessary training, so you can use our systems. Depending on the tasks you will help with, we will provide a laptop and other equipment needed.

Does this sound like you?

You…

  • are comfortable with volunteering from home and / or in an office environment
  • have experience or an interest in communications
  • enjoy paying attention to the details
  • know how to work on a computer and use Microsoft Word and Excel (if this is needed for your tasks)
  • can carry out tasks independently
  • enjoy admin and organisational tasks
  • have some awareness of how to handle sensitive data (training will be provided)
  • share our values and mission to get more people cycling, walking and wheeling in your community.

Then let us know your interest in helping our team with admin and communications related tasks.

Time commitment

This is flexible and we will be happy to discuss what works for you.

It may be that you can support on a regular basis for a couple of hours each week. Or you may support us only once a month.

Let us know what about your availability and we can discuss a time commitment that is suitable for you.
