Accessible paths volunteering - Network signs (Bratton Fleming to Barnstaple)
The National Cycle Network is a network of paths and routes in your community that are used for walking, cycling, wheeling and exploring the outdoors. You can help make sure the Network signs in your area are in good condition.
With support from your local Sustrans team, you will help with:
- finding places on the Network that have sign issues
- creating a list that shows where temporary signs are needed
- setting up temporary Network signs where needed to make sure the route is easy to use and navigate
- fixing broken or confusing signs, when possible.
We will provide you with all the training, support and equipment needed, so you can help with these activities in your area.
You will be looking after a section of National Cycle Network route 3 from Bratton Fleming to Barnstaple (Whiddon Valley industrial estate).
Does this sound like you?
You…
- enjoy being active outdoors
- can easily get to your part of the National Cycle Network route by walking, wheeling, cycling or public transport
- can carry out tasks independently and / or with a diverse group of people
- like paying attention to details
- would like to help make sure that paths are accessible in your area
- share our values and mission to get more people cycling, walking and wheeling in your community.
Then let us know your interest in help keeping the National Cycle Network signs accessible to everyone in your area.
Time commitment
It is flexible how many hours every week or month that you would like to help. Let us know what suits you. Usually, people spend a couple of days every month and mainly help during Spring and Summer.
