Paths for everyone volunteering (Brighton and Hove)

Our Paths for everyone volunteering tasks and activities are varied and done on the National Cycle Network near you. You can help keep your part of the Network looking great and be as accessible as possible.

You can do any of the activities and tasks below, as according to your own interests. This includes:

  • cutting back plants that are overhanging the paths
  • picking up litter from the area or sweep back broken glass to keep the path accessible and help wildlife
  • making sure the Network route signs look right and can be read, including sometimes removing graffiti
  • letting the relevant local responsible authority know if there are any major issues, faults or things that need repairing.

You can do these tasks on your own, with your family or a few other volunteers, as you like. Equipment for the activities above will be provided, if needed.

We know that volunteering on the National Cycle Network can look different depending on where you are. Let us know if you would like to discuss the needs of your community near the Network.

Please let us know in the application form, if you need any support or adjustments to make our first chat together and volunteering a positive experience for you.

Any expenses for helping with these activities, which have been agreed, will be paid back to you. This can include for tools and public transport on the day of volunteering.
